Toyota Corolla GR
Toyota Gazoo Racing have treated their hot hatch, the Corolla GR to numerous updates for 2026. Performance enhancements include the addition of a Torsen limited-slip differential to help put the power down on the ground. Inside the audio display system has been updated.
Big news however is the addition of an eight-speed automatic transmission along with paddle shifters, which is now paired to the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, which produces an impressive 210kW and 400Nm.
Toyota Corolla Cross GR-S
While not a new model, the popular Toyota Corolla Cross GR-S derivative will be updated with a new exterior design, bespoke 18-inch alloy wheels and a host of new interior design features including GR-S interior branding, pedals and seatbelts. The Corolla GR-S will continue to be offered with both hybrid and internal combustion engine options.
Toyota Land Cruiser FJ
One of the most anticipated Toyota models, the new Land Cruiser FJ is headed to SA this year. This model expands the Land cruiser offering with a medium sized model that combines a funky, urban design with true off-road capability. Facilitating this off-road prowess is a part time two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive system along with low range and a rear diff lock.
The interior is thoroughly modern and clearly inspired by the current Prado, featuring a similar steering wheel and dashboard design.
For the South African market the FJ Cruiser will be fitted with a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that offers 120kW and 246Nm and which is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota Land Cruiser 300 1M-HEV
Toyota will expand their Land Cruiser 300 range in 2026 with the addition a hybrid powered derivative along with ZX and GR-S trim. The 1M-HEV utilises a one-motor hybrid system which pairs a 3.5-litre twin turbocharged V6 engine with an electric motor via a 10-speed automatic transmission. The result is improved fuel efficiency and an enhanced power output of 341kW and 790Nm.
Toyota Rav4 HEV and PHEV
The all-new Rav4 is set to launch in South Africa this year as Toyota looks to recapture a significant share of the medium SUV segment. The Rav4 will debut with three engine options wearing GX, VX, PHEV and GR-S badging. The PHEV model is powered by a sixth-generation plug-in hybrid system that offers a fully electric driving range of up to 100km.
The Rav4 is thoroughly modern and utilises the latest in technology including the latest multimedia system, a new digital island with integrated functions, shift by wire and Toyota Safety Sense 4.
Toyota bZ4X BEV
Toyota will launch their first fully electric vehicle in 2026 when the bZ4X goes on sale. This model features a sleek exterior design along with modern features such as LED lighting and a panoramic sunroof. The bZ4X will launch with Touring grade which incorporates a wider wheelbase and more power along with X-mode, which offers advanced off-road capability. The bZ4X promises impressive performance that includes the ability to sprint to 100km/h in 5,1 seconds along with an EV range of 480km.
