Sales of Mahindra bakkies and SUVs jumped by over 600 units in March to 2253 vehicles, setting a new all-time record and welcoming Mahindra into the elusive 2000 unit per month club. This makes Mahindra the eighth largest manufacturer in South Africa.
This new record is thanks to growth across the vehicle sectors with Mahindra breaking its own high scores in terms of bakkies and SUVs during March.
What makes this performance even more impressive is the fact that it is being done with a limited product line up, with Mahindra focusing on offering core SUV and bakkie models to South African motorists.

In the past year, the group has broken ground for a brand-new manufacturing facility at the Dube Tradeport in Durban, which is set to replace the current Pik Up assembly facility and allow for a production capacity in excess of 1 000 units per month.
Mahindra also recently took occupation of a new parts distribution warehouse and training facility in Midrand, Gauteng, that more than doubles the group’s holding capacity of parts and components.
XUV 3XO

XUV700

Mahindra continues to perform well in the bakkie sales charts, consistently ranking amongst the top five in the light commercial vehicle market. A big contributor to this performance is the locally assembled Pik Up, which consistently sells in excess of 1000 units per month.
