Kia Sorento treated to significant updates

 The Kia Sorento has been treated to an extensive exterior refresh, resulting in a modern futuristic look. Designed within the parameters of Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy the updated design incorporates futuristic boldness and a more premium look.

Kia have treated their popular Sorento to a variety of updates that includes a modern, cutting-edge design, an efficient engine, a high-quality interior and the latest in vehicle technology.

A modern exterior design The Kia Sorento has been treated to an extensive exterior refresh, resulting in a modern futuristic look. Designed within the parameters of Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy the updated design incorporates futuristic boldness and a more premium look.

The frontal refresh includes a new bonnet, which is flanked by unique vertical headlights and star map daytime running lights that emphasise the progressive and high-tech image. This image is bolstered by a new radiator grille that incorporates a 3D mesh pattern as well as sequential turn signal indicators. A redesigned front bumper houses a wide skid plate, new fog lamps and a vertical air intake on either side.

The side profile incorporates a new fender design which adds to the three-dimensional look and all Sorento models ride on new 20-inch alloy wheels.

A modern, well-equipped interior

The Sorento’s interior continues to offer a sense of wideness thanks to its panoramic dimensions, tiered design and brushed aluminium inlays. A factor that is now further emphasised by subtle interior mood lighting throughout, which is visible along the dashboard, on the gear selector and along the front door trims.

A curved display and multimode touch display, measuring 12.3-inches each extend uninterrupted from the centre console to ahead of the driver creating a high-tech modern feel. An additional 10-inch heads up display allows drivers to keep an eye on basic vehicle and traffic information without taking their eyes off the road.

Interior trim updates include a black headliner, aluminium pedals and the fitment of a panoramic sunroof. As part of Kia’s balanced relationship with nature, interior trim elements comprise a variety of sustainable, materials.

New to the Sorento is a digital rear view mirror, which can be used as either a normal electro chromatic mirror or as a display for a camera image, allowing the driver to maintain a clear view behind them in situations where the rear view is obscured, such as by rear passengers or a fully loaded boot.

Enhanced safety features

The safety suite of the Sorento has been upgraded across the model range. Available features include Forward Collision Avoidance which now includes Junction Turning and Crossing, Evasive Steering Assist and a variety of lane change warnings.

Keeping passengers safe is up to seven airbags which includes dual front airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, side curtain airbags with rollover sensors, a new second row rear thorax airbag and a front centre airbag.

A frugal, yet powerful diesel engine

The refreshed Kia Sorento will be offered exclusively with a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine offering 148kW at 3800rpm and 440Nm from 1750rpm and is paired to a new eight-speed wet double-clutch transmission, which prioritises smooth shifting and efficiency.

Three derivatives to choose from

The new Kia Sorento is available in three trim levels carrying EX+, SX and SX plus badging respectively.
