Kia adds value for money Sonet LS to model offering

Kia have expanded their recently launched Sonet range with the addition of a value for money LS derivative. The Kia Sonet LS offers a great combination of style, features and value with a price tag of R299 995.
The discontinuation of the Rio hatchback left a gap in Kia’s line up for a spacious, comfortable and well-specified successor at the right price point and the Sonet aims to fill this gap.
Updated earlier this year with a new exterior design, an upgraded interior and a repositioned model line-up, the Sonet continues to be praised for its outstanding build quality and overall reliability, which is now strengthened even further thanks to the additional value for money model.
What sets the Sonet LS apart?
From the outside the new LS model features the same exterior design as its siblings and is visually identical to the Sonet LX, apart from the fitment of 15-inch steel wheels with a stylish wheel cover.
Overall dimensions remain unchanged and the Sonet continues to offer one of the roomiest cabins in its class as well as a 385-litre boot capacity.
Inherent big car engineering is complimented by features such as ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control, Isofix child seat anchors and dual front airbags.
Under the bonnet
The Kia Sonet LS is powered by Kia’s well proven 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine paired with either a five-speed manual or a CVT and produces 85kW at 6 300rpm and 144Nm at 4 500rpm.
The Sonet LS features the same high-quality interior as its siblings, with a familiar layout which includes an eight-inch colour touchscreen and a combination of black cloth and synthetic leather upholstery as standard.
A model for every budget
The rest of the Kia Sonet line up remains unchanged and continues to offer maximum choice without compromising on standard specification or value for money.
The Sonet LX is a feature rich option that features body-coloured bumpers and trim for the electrically adjustable side mirrors, 16-inch styled wheels, combination black cloth and artificial leather upholstery, driver’s seat heigh adjustment, a rake-adjustable steering column, 60:40 split second-row seatbacks, electric windows, manual air-conditioning, automatic headlight control, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with reverse camera, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering wheel mounted controls and six-speakers.
The Sonet EX builds on this foundation with the addition of rear parking sensors, rear fog lamps and roof rails. Electric side mirrors gain integrated indicator signal lamps and an auto folding function, while the high-mounted stop lamp, rear combination lamps, positioning lamps and daytime running lights are upgraded to LED. The interior gains a central armrest and cruise control.
The Sonet EX Plus takes the standard features list even further with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with a 10.25-inch TFT LCD Supervision instrument cluster, full artificial leather upholstery, an electrochromatic rearview mirror and wireless charging pad. The exterior is differentiated by 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
The top of the range Sonet EX features all of the aforementioned as well as a range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems including Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Follow Assist and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist while Drive Mode Select allows the driver to select from Comfort, Eco, Sport or Smart sub settings
